Clinical Signs:
depression
Clinical description:
Mycoplasma gallisepticum typically produces the most severe clinical signs in young birds, between the ages of 4-8 weeks. General signs may include depression, seen here, as well as reduced feed intake and poor body condition. This image shows a chicken from a flock positive for Mycoplasma gallisepticum. Within a flock, morbidity is usually high, however mortality is typically low unless complicated by concurrent infections and environmental stress.
