Morphologic diagnosis:
Eye: Severe fibrinosuppurative conjunctivitis
Clinical description:
Ocular involvement may be very severe, with the eyelids swollen closed and copious amounts of suppurative discharge present. Rarely, lower respiratory lesions such as pneumonia and airsacculitis may be found.
Pathologic description:
The eye is completely covered by a thick layer of pale tan friable material and the periocular skin is swollen.
