Pathologic description:
The wattles and comb of this bird are dark purple to black, and swollen. The tissue appears dry and has a granular texture. Additionally, the area between the eye and the nares (corresponding to the infraorbital sinus) is swollen indicting that the sinus is filled by exudate. The conjunctiva and the area around the eye are also swollen but no exudate is present.
