Depression, hock-sitting
Clinical description:
In the early stages of avian encephalomyelitis, chicks are often depressed and have a dull expression. Neurologic signs may begin with hock-sitting behavior, as observed here. AE virus naturally infects quail (shown), chickens, turkeys, and pheasants.
