Clinical description:
This photo was taken 3 days post experimental inoculation with viscerotropic velogenic Newcastle disease virus. This bird is showing signs of severe depression with a reluctance to stand or move. There is ruffling of the feathers of the dorsal neck, consistent with fever.

History:
The photograph of this bird was taken 3 days post inoculation. The bird was experimentally inoculated with Viscerotropic Velogenic Newcastle Disease virus [MO/31387/96] on 3/2/08 at Plum Island Animal Disease Center. The inoculation was performed via cloacal swab using 0.1ml.
