Clinical description: 
Velogenic viscerotropic Newcastle disease. Proventriculitis, with inflammation of the glands shown here, is one of the first stages of the viscerotropic form of Newcastle disease. As the disease progresses, pinpoint hemorrhagic lesions may develop on the mucosal surface of the proventriculus.
Pathologic description: 
The proventricular glands (left) are slightly prominent and raised.
